The Family Riders Motorcycle Club was officially chartered in the State of South Carolina in 1969.
We hosted an annual enduro in the Francis Marion National Forest for over 34 years until such that it became impossible to work with the hierarchy in the District Rangers Office. During those years, the club was very active in helping maintain the trail at the Wambaw OHV trail. We scheduled workdays, wrote many grants for monies available (and even wrote grants for the Forest Service), bought many pieces of equipment, installed many of the culverts you see there today, installed signage, and volunteered over 10,500 man-hours of labor. The shelter that still stands at the trailhead was totally built by member volunteers of the Family Riders. We spent over $3500 in concrete that presently is presently the foundation for the shelter. In addition, we donate to many fine charities such as Ride for Kids, Dream house for Kids, churches, volunteer Rescue Squads, Volunteer Fire Departments and the list goes on.
Further, this club has received awards from the Chief of the Forest Service and one member was designated 1997 South Carolina Trails Volunteer of the Year.
Our club membership presently consists of many fine members that are professionals in their fields such as doctors, attorneys, engineers, skilled blue collar workers, and many who are self employed and own their own successful businesses.
As previously stated we still host an annual enduro, hosted Hare Scrambles in the past, hosted Dual Sport Rides, have club outings and trips to such places as Colorado, Hatfield McCoy and other fun places to ride.
Our present annual enduro is now held at Broxton Bridge Plantation near Ehrhardt, SC. The Broxton Plantation facilities are a benefit to our annual enduro and the first year over 400 riders entered our new venue. With camping hookups, Saturday night country buffet dinner and bluegrass music, it has quickly become a tradition for those riders from the Southeastern Enduro Trail Riders Association (SETRA) calendar. Participants also come from Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, New York, New Jersey, Virginia and even as far as Maine. Our annual enduro is normally held on the third weekend of January which is traditionally a long holiday weekend.
In all our endeavors, we hope to make a positive impact on the public as it regards OHV use. We welcome new members to attend our club meetings and learn more about us. Look elsewhere on the website for times and dates.

I live near Hilton Head and have worked checks at the past two enduro’s. I can’t get to meeting, is there a way I can join the club without going to meetings?
Hey Mike, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I see no reason why you cant join up from afar. Our dues are $24/yr single and $36 family. I’ll drop you an email with more specifics. Oh, and thanks for the help, bud!
